Andy Soltis dubbed this move "The
chameleon Sicilian," as White may play
d2-d4 or d2-d3. Black has to keep both
possibilities in mind when choosing his
reply.
Soltis must have been overjoyed by
Fischer's adoption of this move order in
the 1992 match with Spassky, book sales
will go way up.
