Re: Tablet considerations
Hi FreeRepublic, I started noticing that the piece speed was working fine on my tablet a day or two after I read your post and fiddled around with the "sliding piece speed" setting. I think I'm able to reproduce this now and it looks like a bug in COW. To reproduce this, I set the sliding ...

Re: Tablet considerations
Thanks for tip on sliding piece speed. I didn't know about that setting. But it didn't make a difference (mine was already set almost at the max speed). There's just a delay after I click the arrow and before the piece moves. There's no such delay on my desktop; the pieces move as soon as I click th...

Re: Tablet considerations
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 during last year's Black Friday sales for about $140. This tablet is 10.4" display; 32GB storage; 3GB memory; full specs here (click "See all specs"). This is definitely a budget tablet, but works fine for COW. The only thing I notice is about a second...

Re: Purging orphaned positions?
Also, I believe the Import function is only available in the Pro version. I vaguely remember this from the video, and Import is only listed for Pro version in the COW comparison chart.

Re: Purging orphaned positions?
Mike addressed this question in the "Five Positions a Day Challenge" Facebook post on Feb 13th. I think he also addressed it during one of the videos, but I'm not sure which one. Below is cut and paste response from Facebook post: Q: I have a book that shows 82 positions and 76 trained. I ...

Re: Training Wizard Issues
I looked at CPT pretty closely. Pros: polished from Windows UI perspective (ribbons, etc.); excellent documentation. Cons: not supported as you mentioned; not cross-platform (Windows only). CPT did seem to have a lot of training functionality, but I haven't dug into COW or CPT enough to really compa...

Re: Training Wizard Issues
I've been trying to understand the training feature myself, after starting to use COW more regularly during the challenge. I created a new ebook to test your scenario. I added just a few moves for white and black to do some quick testing. Here are some observations: To start training, I had to click...
