Re: Backsolving Transpositions
I assume you mean clearing the evaluation for the target position of the candidate move that was just deleted. There is no point in doing that as, once a candidate is deleted, the target position cannot be reached/seen by Backsolving. I guess I misunderstood your explanation that you have no "...

Re: Backsolving Transpositions
I've considered making this automatic. I imagine the madness of deleting a candidate only to have it immediately pop right back up because it, of course transposes. Every deleted candidate would do that. I have not yet thought of an elegant way around that. Perhaps when a candidate is deleted, clea...

Blunder Checking
I would like to suggest an EDP analysis option - similar to Backsolving - but as a separate stand-alone tool for aiding opening analysis. After importing PGN games, I'd like an option to blunder check each variation. A threshold setting would be set by the user, whereby when a position is reached in...

Backsolving Transpositions
I'd like to suggest that the BackSolving function add a check-box option to search for possible transpositions before carrying a score up to the parent node. There is a "Cntl-T - Add Moves that Transpose" option, but that only functions on specific positions where I suspect a transposition...

Re: Count of positions
Has there been any thought to adding a filter view to COW Candidate Move list based on number of sub-variations? I like to build a database importing games from external sources of questionable quality and then running analysis and backsolving for new ideas. Many times there are rare variations that...

Re: Error Message while extacting data for EDP Analysis
If you can, please send me a copy of that ebook via email and I'll have a look at it. This is the first case of this error so far in the history of COW 2016. mike at bookupmembers dot com I still have the data if you want it but the DB is too large to send via email. I'll need to figure out how to ...

Re: Problem mit the board
Thanks for the heads up on the graphics card driver idea. Ultimately I'd like the program to work great no matter what the graphics card might do in the optimization department. COW isn't rendering 3D full motion. :) Mike, I installed COW Version 68 on Microsoft Windows 10 and, so far, I was not ab...

Re: COW Wish List
Thanks, Mike. David Barnes' utility sounds quite handy but it is probably beyond my pay grade to support another program. Mike, it certainly wasn't above your pay grade to supply the Stockfish and Crafty chess engines (as 3rd party written software) as part of your default COW install along with a ...

Re: Problem mit the board
I'm curious as to whether build 68 still behaves this way on your Windows 10 computer. Mike - I'm still using version 66 and I'm on day 12 of a 13 day eBook rebuild that got corrupted from a PGN import. Unfortunately I had not done a back-up to fall back to. :-( Anyway, when this finishes, I will i...
