Custom keyboard shortcuts in Mac version

I thought it would be useful to add some keyboard shortcuts for myself (e.g., command-T to start training, command-shift-T to end training, command-option-C to copy FEN to keyboard, etc.). I used the standard Mac mechanism in Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts to do this. The shortcuts correctly show up in the corresponding drop-down menu items, and when I use them, the top menu-bar item flashes blue as if the shortcut is correctly working, but then nothing actually happens. Wasn't sure if this is a bug of some kind?
