I'd like to contrast two COW eBooks to illustrate a point.

The tablet comes with a free sample Ebook - the Kasparov-Anand 1995 World Championship book. It is a pleasure to behold. The games are interesting and well annotated. COW Ebooks have great potential and, in this case, the potential is fully realized. Imported annotated PGN files usually require some clean-up. Does a comment come before a move is played? Or after? Is a comment about the move that has been played? Or about a move to be played? Not so with this Kasparov-Anand WC match book. All comments are immediately understood by the reader. It's a first class job!

I've bought several softcover books from Eric Schiller in the past and they were very good for their time. So I bought his Evans Gambit COW Ebook with positive expectations. I received a great many games. However I saw nothing to indicate what was a main line. If any games/positions received comments, I did not find them.

Going to the File menu of an Ebook, one finds the command "About this Ebook." It includes the number of positions. However there is no information about the content of text fields. The COW Ebook catalog lists the number of positions for Ebooks, but likewise give no information about the extent of textual information. Perhaps a count of commented positions could be added.

Perhaps some description of the product could be provided so that the buyer has a better idea of what to expect. Something along the lines of "heavily annotated," or "fully explained," etc. If a count of commented positions is implemented, as described above, that information could be added to the catalog.
