I’m in the market for a diamond and I’ve been researching carat weight. I keep seeing 1.5-carat diamonds and I’m curious if it’s really worth the upgrade from a 1-carat diamond. I’ve heard that the carat weight influences the size, but does it really make a noticeable difference in how the diamond looks? I also want to understand if the price difference is justified or if there are other factors I should be focusing on more when buying.

Hey there! Great question! Yes, a 1.5-carat diamond will definitely look a bit larger than a 1-carat diamond, and while the difference might not be huge, it can still have a noticeable effect, especially depending on the setting you choose. That said, the price difference between carat weights can sometimes be steep, so it’s important to also consider the cut, clarity, and color of the diamond. To get a better idea of how carat weight affects a diamond’s appearance and pricing, I recommend reading this
https://labrilliante.com/education/diam ... n-diamonds guide, which explains in detail the 1.5-carat diamond and even discusses lab-grown diamonds. Lab-grown diamonds can be a great alternative because they offer the same look as natural diamonds, but often at a lower price.

That’s super helpful! I didn’t realize how much difference the carat size could make in terms of both size and price. I also really like the idea of lab-grown diamonds—getting that same quality for a lower cost is definitely appealing. I’ll definitely check out that guide to learn more!

A 1.5-carat diamond is slightly larger than a 1-carat diamond, but the
Block Blast size difference may not be very noticeable unless closely compared. The price increase for the 1.5-carat diamond is significant, but it is often more due to rarity than an overwhelming visual difference.

A 1.5-carat diamond is about 30% larger in surface area than a 1-carat diamond, making it more visually striking. However, the price difference can be significant due to the rarity of larger diamonds. Besides size, other factors like cut, color, and clarity also play a crucial role in the diamond's appearance and value. For example, certain cuts like marquise, oval, and pear can make a diamond appear larger. So, while the size difference is noticeable, it's important to consider these other factors and your budget when making a decision.
