Confirmation for "Delete Candidate" function
Confirmation for "Delete Candidate" function
Would be great to have a confirmation dialog when deleting a candidate move, particularly as delete function is right beside the "move" options. I'm using Mac Express build 64.

A confirmation dialog could be added.
However, deleting a move is not hard to recover from. If you remember it, just play it. If you don't remember it, command the app to add all moves that transpose.

Ah that makes sense. You don't delete the "children" as you don't store a hierarchy, just a reference to the stored resulting position. I see. So once a position is created it is never deleted?

That's correct. It's a positional database so if a move were deleted it could easily have unintended consequences.
Say I have a huge French database after 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5.
Then I add the transposing line 1.d4 e6 2.e4 d5. What should happen if I delete the move 1.d4 ? Hopefully it deletes just that move because if it deleted every position resulting from that move it would wipe out my entire French ebook.
